Have you ever had a business meeting at a restaurant that was ruined by noise, distractions, or poor service? If so, you are not alone. I recently had a business meeting with some clients at Barcelos, a popular restaurant inside Accra Mall. The clients proposed we meet there to discuss their project over food and drinks. I was initially hesitant, as I knew that Barcelos and the mall in general could be quite loud and crowded. However, I agreed to meet them there, hoping that it would be a more relaxed setting for our discussion.

Unfortunately, my fears were quickly confirmed. The meeting was constantly interrupted by passersby and individuals trying to sell something to us. It was very difficult to focus on our conversation, and I could tell that my clients were also feeling uncomfortable.

To make matters worse, our waitress seemed to be operating on “African time” as our food took its sweet time arriving and my phone battery was also on its last legs with no place to power it up. These distractions made it difficult to focus on the meeting and give my clients the attention they deserved. I couldn’t help but think that our discussion would have been much more productive in a quieter, more secluded environment.

Many people face the same problem when they try to conduct important discussions over food and drinks. Whether it is a pitch, a negotiation, or a brainstorming session, a business meeting requires a certain level of privacy, comfort, and convenience.
However, most restaurants are not designed to cater to the needs of business customers. They are often noisy, crowded, and lack the necessary amenities such as charging ports, Wi-Fi, or soundproofing. This can make it hard to focus on the meeting and create a good impression on your clients or partners.

I am on a mission to help shape a future where spaces inspire that is why I came up with initial ideas of FEDI PocketBooth concept- a plug and play quiet, soundproof, privacy and charging haven using DALL-E 3 for those who crave a quiet corner in private and public spaces such as restaurants and pubs. FEDI Pocketbooth for Restaurants can be installed in any restaurant. My aim is to redefine the dining experience for business customers in a way that allows customers to enjoy their meals relax, work, socialize and conduct business in private without any interruptions or inconveniences.

FEDI PocketBooth is a modular booth for one user, four users and eight users. It is equipped with a touch screen display that customers can use to order food and drinks, pay their bills, or access other services. The booth also has a built-in charging station that can power up any smart device and caster wheels for mobility. The booth is soundproofed and has a privacy door to create a secluded space.

Customers can reserve a FEDI PocketBooth online or at the restaurant. They can also customize their booth settings, such as the lighting, temperature, or music. Once they enter the booth, they can scan their QR code to activate the display and start their session. They can then order their food and drinks from the menu, which will be delivered to their booth by a waiter or a robot. They can also use the display to make video calls, browse the internet, or watch entertainment.

The FEDI PocketBooth is designed to provide a convenient, secure, and enjoyable dining experience for business customers. They can have their meeting and their meal in a comfortable and private environment, without worrying about noise, distractions, or service issues. They can also save time and money by paying their bills online and avoiding tipping.
